Privacy policy
Short version: we don't have user accounts, we don't sell data, and we collect about as little as a website reasonably can.
What we collect
This site doesn't require an account, a login, or any registration to read anything on it. Our hosting provider generates standard server logs (the kind almost every website generates — requested pages, timestamps, general technical information like browser type) for operating and securing the site; we don't combine this with any other data to identify individual visitors.
If you email us or use a form
If you contact us directly, subscribe to updates, or ask us to check a specific agent or broker, we use the email address you provide only for that purpose — to reply, to send the update emails you signed up for, or to let you know the result of a request. We don't sell it or share it with anyone else. Every email we send includes a one-click unsubscribe link.
Outbound click tracking
Once the Register has agents/brokers listed on its public passing directory, clicking through to a listed agent's own site will register an anonymous, aggregate click count for that listing (no cookies, no IP address or browser fingerprint logged) — see our methodology for why this exists. It has no bearing on any individual visitor's privacy.
Third-party requests this site makes
Pages on this site load web fonts from Google Fonts. Loading a font involves your browser making a request to Google's servers, which is why some sites choose to self-host fonts instead — we haven't made that change yet, and you should assume the same general web-request information (like your IP address) that applies to any external resource reaches Google when a page loads. We don't control what Google does with that request.
Cookies
We don't currently set our own cookies for tracking, advertising, or analytics. If that changes, this page will say so, plainly, before it happens rather than after.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters — a new form that collects data, an analytics tool, anything that changes what we said above — we'll update this page and note the date below, not bury the change.
